Jako Productions is pleased to announce that Dr. Anderson Reynolds will be attending and participating in CARIFESTA XV, to be held in Barbados, August 22-31, 2025.
CARIFESTA XV is the 15th edition of the Caribbean Festival of Arts, the region’s largest and most prestigious multifaceted cultural event. Under the theme Caribbean Roots…Global Excellence, the cultural extravaganza will feature ten days of literature, music, dance, fashion, film, visual arts, theatre, culinary arts, and cultural symposia.
According to Dr. Reynolds, the timing of CARIFESTA XV couldn’t have been more perfect since it is coming on the heels of the publication and national book signing tour of his two latest books: Magna: A Memoir of the Enduring Human Spirit, and The Promised Land (the first book of the Vieux Chronicles), both of which have been receiving rave reviews from readers and critics alike.
As part of Dr. Reynolds’ involvement in this Caribbean cultural exposé, he will not only conduct book readings and signings, but at 10 AM on Wednesday, 27 August, will serve on a discussion panel titled The Caribbean Publishing Journey, and at 4 PM will participate in a special launch of Magna. In addition, all of his eight books will be showcased and available for purchase at CARIFESTA’S special Grand Market, located at Waterford Place, St. Michael, and open daily 8 AM to 10 PM, August 23–31, 2025.
This is the first time that the award-winning author will be attending CARIFESTA. He expressed excitement about the prospects of his participation widening his readership and allowing him to serve as a St. Lucia cultural ambassador, as such joining other St. Lucian creatives in showcasing St. Lucian creativity and cultural heritage, in the process strengthening brand-St. Lucia.
Dr. Anderson Reynolds was born and raised in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, where he resides. He holds a Ph.D. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida. He is the author of several award-winning and best-selling books and is one of St. Lucia’s most prominent and prolific authors. His books, blogs, lectures, and newspaper and magazine articles have established him as one of his country’s leading public intellectuals and a foremost authority on its socioeconomic history.
Dr. Reynolds’ writings, be they fiction or nonfiction, have been described as a world in which a great drama unfolds, where history, geography, nature, culture, the supernatural, and socioeconomic factors all combine to seal the fate of individuals, communities, or, for that matter, a whole nation or civilization.
