Founded in 1999, Jako Productions is a cultural and entertainment enterprise that seeks to encourage the artistic expression of St. Lucian culture and to promote that culture worldwide. Jako Productions has been pursuing this mission through its website through the publication of books and magazines, the production of music and film, the management of artists and bands, and the staging of musical, literary and other cultural events. Jako Productions is based in Vieux Fort, the |
|
industrial and fishing capital of St. Lucia. Situated at the southernmost end of the island, Vieux Fort is a hotbed of soccer, track and field, and reggae music. The area was St. Lucia's first point of European settlement, and before the Europeans it was home to a large community of Amerindians. Archaeologists digs have and continue to find a wealth of Amerindian artifacts. As home to the island's international airport, Vieux Fort is truly the gateway to St. Lucia; and Jako Productions is proving to be a pioneer in the cultural industry of St. Lucia. |

When Art Inspires Dreams Jallim is 30, inspired, articulate, sincere. He trained as a sculptor under his father, the venerable Joseph Eudovic, now in his 60s and still directing daily goings-on at Eudovic’s Studio on the Morne, easily one of St Lucia’s most successfully sustainable galleries. Jallim to his credit, and no doubt his father’s pride and joy, has mounted no less than three major international installations in of all places, China. The first executed in 2008 is entitled Nurture and stands proudly in the Changchun World Sculpture Park which at 223 hectares is the largest in China and indeed the world. Such was the impact of his first piece, that Jallim was selected later that same year to create The Beckoning unveiled at the Changchun Urban Sculpture Museum.....read more |
